Well, we have arrived to Day 365. Our Marjorie Elinor "Jordie" Hawkins turned one today. The day itself started off with Mom and Dad singing Happy Birthday to get Jordie out of bed. After getting dressed and a little loving time, Mom had a surprise for Jordie downstairs. We have talked some about the past year and the amazing time we have had over the course of 365 days. There are so many things to mention, we would fill an entire blog with all of the special times Jordie has brought us.

Jordie got to wear one of her new outfits to school today. She is ready for Summer and ready for things to warm up, so she went prepared today. She also had to dress up, because she started visiting the toddler room today and wanted to look her best on her birthday.

| Whose Birthday? That is right, Jordie's Birthday! |
When we came downstairs, Mom surprised Jordie with a special birthday breakfast of cinnamon rolls. Jordie loved them almost as much as Dad loved them.
| This is the sweetness! Why did I have to take my shirt off to eat? |
For her birthday, both Mom and Dad went to school to take Jordie this morning. She enjoyed showing off some of her new toys and new friends in her room. Her time in the infant wing is drawing to a close, as she starts visiting the toddler room today to prepare for her move in a couple of weeks. She gets a week off of school next week to hang with RaRa and Grampy and Gee.
| You see, I put toys in my mouth here too. |
After a busy day at school and work, it was time for a busy evening at the Hawkins house too. It was time to celebrate, so Mom and Dad were both off of work at 4 and headed home to have dinner all together. Eating dinner required Mom and Dad to eat a little earlier than usual. After talking to Great Grandpa Jack last night about his birthday dinner, we decided that burgers sounded good to us too, so Jordie enjoyed the same birthday dinner as her Great Grandpa. Before dinner, there was plenty of time for play. Jordie is now doing laps around the kitchen with her walker and her grocery cart.
| You are kind of in my way. |
| I am just cruising guys, don't mind me. |
| Wait a sec! Mom was not suppose to leave the room! |
| Hey, are we doing cake again tonight? |
In between playing, Jordie had to get her Otto love in on her birthday. These two love each other equally as much, but Jordie sure does seek out Otto.
| Puppy Love! |
| Birthday kisses |
After some play time, we decided to go ahead and open gifts to make sure we could fit every thing in tonight. We had plenty of gifts from Aunt Heidi and Uncle Matt, RaRa and Grampy, Great Aunt Jodie and Uncle Fro, Aunt Taylor, and Aunt Shelley and Uncle Philip. There were also a few special cards from friends, including Kevin, Suzanne and Kendall Leder.
| College Fund? What is college? Thanks Aunt Heidi and Uncle Matt |
| Hold on one second! I am not done checking out this sweet card from Aunt Shelley and Uncle Philip |
| That is an amazing top from Aunt Jodie and Uncle Fro! |
| What is a cat? I will chase this on the reg! Thanks Aunt Jodie and Uncle Fro! |
| RaRa and Grampy got me a Swing! Excellent! |
After dinner, it was bath time to get cleaned up for photo time. One last monthly photo shoot to track Jordie's growth over the year. Obviously, Jordie has changed so much over the course of the year. These photos are amazing to see the change. As always, we had several outtakes to include here in addition to the photo of the day.
| More pictures or more play time? |
| You guys are silly over there |
| 12 months? |
Mom and Dad wanted to try and get some family photos too. Some turned out better than others.
| Otto may be doing the best pose of all of us. |
After photos, Jordie got to talk to Grampy on the phone for her birthday. He sang Happy Birthday and she promptly gave him an applause.
| This is a familiar song. |
Finally, it was time for more Happy Birthday from Mom and Dad. No cake tonight, but we were able to pick up some coconut milk ice cream for Jordie. We put a candle in it and everything. I think at this point, Jordie may have been begging to go to bed.
| I am so embarrassed with all these Birthday wishes. |
| You Scream, I Scream, we all Scream for Ice Cream! |
Jordie got special wishes from her West Coast Cousins too. Her cousin, Evie, actually wore her special birthday celebration hat for Jordie today and sent a special picture.
| Hey Cuz! Hope to see you soon! |
If you have gotten this far on today's blog than you are a trooper. We apologize for the volume of pictures and writing today, but it is the last official post of "A Year in the Life of...." After today, we will not post anymore to this blog. Jordie's first year will come to an end and this blog will not be updated. We said it yesterday, but really do hope that we will always be able to look back at this blog to see an amazing transformation over the course of 365 days. In some ways or all ways, this will be Jordie's baby book. This will be her source of information on her first bath, or her first coo, her first wave, her first roll, her first flight, and the loving friends and family she met along the way. We have cherished every one of these special moments and have enjoyed sharing them with anyone and everyone who wanted to check out the blog. We know from talking to others that it has provided a source of entertainment, provided updates to family across the country and even given some in other countries something to check out. Who knows, we may just see Jordie's picture in an advertisement in another country. So, this is the end. We appreciate everyone's love for Jordie. We also want to say Jordie (years and years from now) that we love you! You are the greatest thing we have ever done. Heaven sent in all ways.

So, in order to keep family up to date, we will try to do a much more irregular blog update. We have established a new blog to keep everyone in the loop on Jordie's activities. We just can't promise the frequency of updates from this point forward. We will do what we can to get a weekly update out there. The blog address will be: wearethehawkins.blogspot.com
