Day 46 - On the road again (again)...

Jordie decided Father's Day weekend was a good time to take her first road trip.  She hung out in her crib in the morning and played with her mobile while mom and dad filled the car with every possible supply (portable crib, diapers, lambie chair, diapers, stroller, diapers, clothing, burp cloths, blankets, diapers, bottles, diapers).  For my first voyage, they decided she should wear her really great nautical outfit from Aunt Donna in California.

No I'm not behind bars, this is my sailing shirt and I am lying in my crib!

Otto was excited about the trip, because he was staying behind to hang out with his friends Steven and Caren.  He hasn't seen them much since Jordie arrived, but after being cooped up at home for the last few weeks, he was ready for a vacation that included a pool and his buddies Cinder and Ashes.  In order to prepare for such a luxurious weekend, he spent some QT in the sun on the patio.

Hey, remember when I said I would take over this blog.  While mom and dad think I am spending the weekend playing like crazy, I am actually hatching my plan to hack Jordie's blog.  I trick them by always looking so happy and relaxed.

Mid morning we had a visitor who was closer to Jordie's age - HOORAY!  Samantha and her mom Tara Vogelien came to visit.  They said that Matt couldn't make it because he was working, but Jordie sure can't wait to meet him either.   Samantha even made Jordie an awesome drawing of herself.  That is going in Jordie's room so she can remember her new friends!

Samantha is a great artist!  She is an even better model in photos - look at that sweet smile!

Pretty soon Samantha is going to have a baby brother at her house.   It already looks like she will be a great helper.
After our visitors and getting the final bag in the car (diaper bag) we headed off for Raleigh!  Half way there we stopped to see Jordie's cousins play some softball in Greensboro.  Jordie was very impressed by the batting skills of Janie and Preston, and she also really enjoyed all the attention she got from her cousin Noah.  Jordie has already reminded her parents that they should have remembered to get the camera out of the car, but she is cutting them some slack since they haven't taken Jordie out very often yet.

The family finally arrived in Raleigh around dinner time.  Jordie couldn't wait to see her Aunt Taylor and Nana and Grandaddy.  She also was excited to meet more furfamily - Stella and Dixie.  By the time we arrived Nana was ready to help out by giving Jordie a bottle.

Hey Nana, you're pretty good at this bottle thing.  That makes me really love you.
Jordie was a fabulous traveler, and she must have known that Father's Day is a big day, because she slept almost the whole trip and then had a great night's sleep.  On Sunday she will see Aunt Shelley and Uncle Philip again (some of the world's best snugglers) and she will meet her Great Aunt Jennifer and Great Uncle David for the first time.
