There has been a delay getting the blog updated of rth eweekend for several reasons, including technical difficulties and just a busy weekend. We kicked off Jordie's birthday party Saturday with her first round of swim lessons and then after a quick nap it was time for lots of friends and family to arrive.

We woke up in just enough time to have some breakfast and get ready to head to the Y for swim lessons.
Jordie knows its her birthday
Jordie took her first swim class on Saturday morning at the YWCA. Mom and Dad were both in attendance with Mom being the first in the water. After Jordie displayed some skills, Dad jumped in to try and help encourage Jordie to kick her feet. No such luck. Dad then was the one who went under the water with Jordie. Jordie came up out of the water clapping.

We got home and had time for a bath and a nap before the grandparents started arriving. There was plenty to do to get ready to welcome some of Jordie's favorite people for the big celebration.

The Raffe the Giraffe theme party carried over to the jungle themed beach balls, the giraffe cake, and even Jordie's gift, a Rocking Giraffe.
Party time!
One day, Jordie will see this blog and see just how much she is loved. Not only did we have family in town from all over, but we had a huge group of friends, new and old join us for the party. Below is a collection of some of Jordie's friends and family who joined us.

Jordie had a smash cake for the big moment, but Dad and Mom decided after her reaction at school on Friday that it may not be a good idea to give her such a large amount of cake. Good thing we didn't. Jordie devoured the regular piece of cake we gave her. Of course, just like Jordie, she was very neat and proper while she put it down. We did notice a small rash on her after she was done with the cake, but not sure what is causing it.
